Donielle Pace

Poet, author, teacher, host, and mother of two boys, PacePoetry, has been on a mission to be an example to anyone she can, so that they know no matter how many mistakes you’ve made, you can always turn those mistakes into a message that will help the next person. Through her gift of writing poetry and books and performing her poetry to mass audiences, she strives to show others that pain is only temporary and significant and necessary to build your strength to keep pushing through. As a teacher, she makes sure those values are instilled into her students and most importantly, her own two boys.

PacePoetry has been writing poetry since she was a teenager, but in 2012 she decided to share her poetry in a different way besides the pages of her notebook. Although her first time performing poetry in front of an audience didn’t go as planned, she knew that she had a purpose and was determined to give it another try. Now, she has gained attention from all over; being asked to perform at major events and landing a regular spot at the Houston Improv for its monthly poetry show. Also, she caught the eye of one of the most influential and well-known poets, who asked her to join the hosting team for the longest running poetry shows in the city of Houston, Poetry Lounge.

In March of 2016, she released her first book, Awakening the Pace of Love: A Memoir. It is a memoir which details her journey of searching for love in all the wrong places and people trying to compensate for the love she felt wasn’t shown properly in her home. Even though she was hesitant to write and publish the book, she has loved the feedback and reviews from others, especially women, who share with her their similar experiences and deep feelings that they’ve never felt comfortable to share with others. Sharing those moments with her supporters affirm that she made the right decision to release the book.

There is much more PacePoetry has in store. She is working on her next book that will be released toward the end of 2017 as well as her poetry collection in audio and print. Her overall goal is to leave a legacy that her boys will not only try to emulate in their own way, but will be proud to possess.
